interior and wedding design intersect....

i was laid back and watching HGTV's Find Your Style. I really like that show....

i decided to check out their website to see how they would define my style. i know my style is a tad bit eclectic.....i like many different elements of of a lot of different looks.....

i took their 10 Question quiz and found that my Style is defined as....

Sophisticated

Your design style is mixed. Call it traditional elegance meets modern lines. In your home, sophisticated looks contrast perfectly with updated twists. For example, "You might find the classic lines of a Louis XV chair in a dining room set with a modern textured fabric," suggests Julie Rackley, an interior designer in Bellevue, Washington.
The best color palettes for your look include dark browns and soothing neutrals. Rich accent colors complete the mixed antique modern look: tapestry blues, muted blue-greens, champagne and warm peachy tones. Your style includes a range of fabrics from silk to mohair to linen to velvet.
Your style isn't the only thing with a combination approach: your space is perfect for anything from entertaining friends and family to intimate gatherings around the kitchen table.

Interesting.......very similar to the style i am trying to express in our wedding.

If you find yourself stumped on a design element of the wedding, take the wedding part out of it...and consider it just as you would if you were doing it in your home. Something about it being for the wedding makes it feel very "all or nothing". i feel as if this is my only chance and it has to be perfect.

psh....

it will be perfect regardless of whether the color palette translates perfectly. whether i have fresh or silk flowers in my centerpieces. whether there are enough candles and rose petals....

the day will be perfect bc i will be married to a wonderful man. I will embark on a new phase of life. i will be moving on from singledom to the cool, mundane, tedious monotony of married life.

and i'm really looking forward to it!

Wow that is interesting how it pretty much picked out your exact colour palate. I loved this post. I think you're going to dig being married :)
